Temperatures the next several days will remain below average (average high this time of year should be in the low to mid 50s) with a return of the 60s by this weekend.

A weak cold front moving in from the northwest Tuesday morning will allow cloud cover to remain fairly thick across the Stateline but also bring a few showers, and possibly a flake or two, with it during the late morning and afternoon.

If you're heading out to the polls in northern Illinois during the morning expect cloudy skies to greet you with the threat for rain increasing after 9am.  Temperatures will be cool with the mercury remaining in the middle 30s through late morning.  Rain showers will continue into the afternoon with highs only rising through the middle and upper 40s.  Once the cold front passes rain showers should begin to end from west to east during the evening followed by clearing skies overnight.  Rainfall amounts don't look too impressive with only a couple tenths of an inch falling by supper time.

If you're heading out the polls in Wisconsin the forecast remains about the same.  Temperatures in the morning will be slightly cooler starting off in the lower 30s first thing in the morning.  It's possible that a wet snowflake or two may mix in with some of the light rain early in the day as temperatures a few thousand feet above the surface remain below freezing.  Highs during the afternoon will only warm into middle and upper 40s with showers continuing into the afternoon and evening.
